Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers got a lot of flak last season for his lack of a jump shot. The Sixers star himself uploaded a few clips on Instagram showing that he is working on this liability.

As posted by NBA on TNT, below are some clips from Simmons' Instagram account:

Last season, Simmons showed how easy it is for him to slice through the defense and either go for a teardrop layup or dish it off to an open teammate. These were his go-to plays in his rookie season.

When he was wide open for a midrange shot, he almost always hesitated. And whenever he did rise up for a jump shot, his shooting form clearly had some problems in terms of mechanics. Critics immediately pointed to Simmons' jump shot as the main liability in his game. Kobe Bryant himself even adviced him to modify his form.

Simmons and his camp have heard all the whispers and criticisms. The video above is a clear evidence that they've heeded all those pieces of advice. Sixers head coach Brett Brown even said that their shooting coach John Townsend will be keeping a close eye on Simmons in the offseason. As per Brian Seltzer, a reporter for the 76ers, Brown said:

“[Shooting coach] John Townsend is a valued asset, [Ben] will be spending intense time with [him]. A complete rebuild…no, were’ not going to do that. There will be some intense refinement.”
