Despite the recent rumors of Kawhi Leonard making a return before the end of the season, his teammate Manu Ginobili isn't holding his breath awaiting his return.

“For me, he's not coming back, because (thinking he is) is not helping,” said Ginobili, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio News-Express. “We fell for it a week ago — again. I guess you guys (media) made us fall for it. But we have to think that he's not coming back. That we are who we are.”

The San Antonio Spurs have been clawing their way through this last stretch of this season in hopes to garner a spot in the postseason, after falling from third place and even out of playoff contention during a short stretch.

This team now sits in sixth place after a timely four straight wins, but still 5-5 in their last 10 games, and losers of a tiebreaker with the fifth-place New Orleans Pelicans at a 41-30 record for the season.

With 11 games left, there's little the Spurs could do to reincorporate their talisman back to the fold while vying for the best possible place in the playoffs.

Point guard Patty Mills echoed Ginobili's standpoint, figuring the team's energy is put to better use figuring out how to wins games rather than anticipate his return, with a chance it won't come at all.

“Nothing has changed mindset-wise for anyone. Because like we said before, we’ve got to move on,” said Mills. “We are at a very important part of the season and we need to attack this part of the season with who we have and not having anything else weighing on us.”

The Spurs will roll on to face the Washington Wizards at home tonight, another team hopeful to pile up wins in this latter stretch of the regular season.
