With Ben Simmons still yet to make his debut for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, it's becoming clearer by the day that he no longer has a future ahead of him with the Sixers. While there have been reports of a reconciliation between the two parties, it still feels like a trade announcement is imminent. Right now, the San Antonio Spurs have reportedly emerged as a potential landing spot for the former Rookie of the Year.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein (subscription required), Simmons is very much open to taking his talents to Texas:

“I've heard that Ben Simmons would welcome the opportunity to play for Popovich if the Spurs found a way to acquire him,” wrote Stein (h/t RealGM Wiretap).

It sounds like Simmons has issued a not-so-subtle come-get-me plea to the Spurs. This isn't the first time the Sixers All-Star has been linked to a move to San Antonio, and it does seem like the Spurs have maintained their interest in the embattled point guard.

If there's any coach in the league that you'd expect to get Simmons back to top form then it has to be the great Gregg Popovich. His tenure with the Spurs is nearing its conclusion, though, so perhaps Simmons himself wants to experience a bit of coach Pop's magic before it's too late.
