The Pittsburgh Steelers rolled to their sixth straight victory following a spectacular 31-28 win over the Green Bay Packers. At 9-2, they are currently tied with the New England Patriots for the best record in the AFC.

That said, the marquee matchup between these two teams in Week 15 has already started to generate plenty of buzz. Even Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has already acknowledged their showdown with the Patriots. However, veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he is not buying into the hype just yet, during an appearance on “The Cook and Poni Show” on 93.7 The Fan:

“He’s the head coach, he’s allowed to think about whatever game or whatever elephant in the room or whatever matchups, things like that,” Roethlisberger said. “For me, I am 100% on Cincinnati and nothing else. That is my biggest focus because these guys are going to come out to get us. I mean they want to ruin our playoff chances.”

The notion of getting an early look at a potential AFC Championship Conference matchup was understandably all too much to resist for Tomlin. However, it is interesting that same effect has not set on the two-time Super Bowl winning QB.

Then again, the Steelers do have key back-to-back divisional games to focus on, beginning with their hated rival in the Cincinnati Bengals, so perhaps it is wise not to overlook any opponent just yet. Pittsburgh could very well put themselves in the driver's seat for their showdown with New England, which could decide the top seed in the conference.
