The Pittsburgh Steelers placed the franchise tag on Bud Dupree last offseason and might not be able to do this same this time around. Dupree has been spectacular in the Steel City, but his days as a Steeler might be coming to an end.

Dupree suffered a torn ACL towards the end of the year after a fantastic season and insists he'll be ready for training camp. He's been a huge part of the success of the Steelers, and General Manager Kevin Colbert doesn't know if they will have room to bring Dupree back.

“We’re never going to eliminate a great player like Bud Dupree, because we don’t know what Bud’s market is, and Bud doesn’t know what his market is at this point,” Colbert said, according to Noah Strackbein of SI.com.

Dupree had eight sacks in 11 games before suffering an injury and he had a career-high 11.5 in 2019. Despite the injury, the market should be blooming for Dupree, as he'll be one of the top pass rushers on the market if the Steelers don't find a way to bring him back.

The Steelers would love to have him back, but with questions remaining about Ben Roethlisberger, and with JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner free agents as well, they have a lot to figure out.

J.J. Watt is a free agent and the Denver Broncos are considering letting Von Miller be a free agent as well, and that might hurt Dupree's market value a bit. The injury might be a huge concern for teams that are looking at him, too.

With free agency right around the corner and questions remaining in Pittsburgh, Dupree might be the odd man out.
