Cam Newton needs a home. The former New England Patriots quarterback isn't finding that home in Pittsburgh, according to Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The Steelers wideout spoke candidly to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio on the possibility of having Newton backing up incumbent QB Ben Roethlisberger.

Via NBC Sports:

“For myself and our locker room there’s no talks about that,” the Steelers WR told PFT on Tuesday. “I know Cam’s situation is tough for him but at the end of the day just focusing on the guys who are in my locker room. And just wishing Cam nothing but the best. He’s a great player. He’s definitely going to get picked up.”

Just weeks prior, Cam Newton looked poised to take the starting job for the Patriots to start the season, giving time for rookie QB Mac Jones to learn the ropes. But NFL realities came hard and fast for Newton, who is now struggling to find a landing spot. If Smith-Schuster is indeed plugged in, take out the Steelers from the list of possibilities .

Cam Newton's high-profile stature around the league may be working to his detriment. Adding a former NFL MVP into any quarterback room could shake up the chemistry that most teams have been slowly managing throughout the offseason. The Cam Newton watch continues.
