Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell remains a no-show going into the 2018 NFL season opener versus the Cleveland Browns. However, it seems he still has high expectations for himself this year.

Bell's agent Adisa Bakari let it be known during the offseason that he was looking to have his best year yet. Bakari maintained his stance during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“I said Le'Veon has every intention to make this the best season of his career. That has not changed. That's his intention, to make this the best statistical season of his career.”

Bakari's comments should come as no surprise. However, that could be a bit difficult for Bell to do if he continues his holdout. Although there is no question that the three-time Pro Bowler is doing what he can to get in shape, there is no substitute for live action. He has already missed his opportunities to do so with the team preparing for Week 1 in Cleveland. At this point, it remains to be seen whether or not he will play.

While it may be difficult for Steelers star to top his career numbers after missing a game, it is certainly not too far-fetched. His desire to put up monster numbers is mirrored by Pittsburgh's willingness to give him as many touches as possible. It would certainly make sense for them to get the most out of him considering this will likely be his last year with the Steelers. Regardless, it would be beneficial for Bell to return as soon as possible if he wants to sign that lucrative deal next offseason.
