The Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary will not be at 100 percent for their Thursday Night Football game against the Tennessee Titans, with safety Mike Mitchell injured and cornerback Joe Haden on the shelf for three-to-six weeks after the Pro Bowl defender suffered a leg injury in last week’s 20-17 road victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Pittsburgh, however, is hoping that Mitchell will not be forced to miss the Tennessee game with an ankle injury, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. He is officially listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision.

Mitchell was carted off in the Colts game and did not return to the field, appearing in just 37 snaps. He was able to join the team in practice on Tuesday but was only a limited participant. The short week isn’t doing Mitchell and the Steelers any favors, and if he's ultimately sent to the sideline with Haden, it could mean more work for Robert Golden, who took over the job when Mitchell left the game against Indianapolis.

Mitchell has no interceptions so far this season but has 22 tackles to date, good for fourth on the team. The 30-year-old Ohio product has been an important piece of the Steelers’ stop unit that ranks second in scoring defense (16.4 points allowed per game), total defense (284.4), and against the pass (181.8).
