According to Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers will have Ryan Shazier on the team in 2019. Of course, the linebacker won't be playing though.

No matter how you feel about this entire situation, the Pittsburgh Steelers or Ryan Shazier, this is a classy move by the organization.

Shazier hasn't appeared in an NFL game since December of 2017. The linebacker went for a tackle in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and suffered a spinal contusion.

There was fear that he would never walk again. Shazier has conquered that however, and seems determined to make it back to play in an NFL game again. Sadly, that's still a major long shot at this moment.

The Steelers have been in the news a lot recently with former running back Le'Veon Bell rumors swirling. There was also all the Antonio Brown drama, which has made it's way to Ben Roethlisberger drama as well.

It's good to see them in the news for a positive reason, and it's hard to think of many better moves than this one.

Shazier was an absolute monster in his first four seasons in the NFL. His last three seasons, in particular, were strong, making the Pro Bowl twice. He gave them a dominant presence in the middle of the field, and they're repaying him with loyalty now.

No one would've blamed the Steelers if they didn't want to pay someone they knew had zero chance of playing in 2019. However, this type of loyalty will go a long way in the future. Whether it be with a returning Shazier or anyone else who recognizes the franchise clearly cares about their players.
