Stray Guides – Chapter 3 The Flat: Where to Find the Power Plugs

As you escape by the skin of your teeth from the terrible bug-like creatures you've just met, you find yourself wandering into an apartment, with piles of books scattered around the room, a couple of things to scratch on the floor, and water to drink after that very long and tiresome run. In this room, you'll find a computer setup with a large screen, asking you to open the door or something. Like a good cat, you walk over the keyboard and press enter sending random messages to whoever was on the other line. This would eventually lead to a secret door opening. As a curious cat, you go in, and then the door closes behind you. You're stuck in this small room with a lot of screens, and now you have to figure out how to get out of here.

Eventually, you find a couple of power outlets on the low of the wall below the computer panels, near the floor. These look like the same power outlets where you got the power plug from earlier to make the exhaust fan stop. But instead of removing power plugs, this time, you're supposed to stick the power plugs back. There are four power plugs in this room that you have to place back into their respective outlets. And, if you're having a hard time finding all of them, here are the locations of the four power plugs:

  1. Jump to the stool, then up to the shelf. In the middle of the top of the shelf is one power plug, just at the midpoint between the two security cameras.
  2. In the center of the room, there's a radio placed on top of the table. There's a power plug powering the radio.
  3.  Press the lever down, and a trolley will start moving. Get on top of the machine on the trolley, which will allow you to reach the top of the shelf to the left, where you'll find another power plug.
  4. The final power plug is at the base of the machine on the trolley.

Collecting all the power plugs and placing them where they're supposed to be will open another secret room. Enter the room, and figure out how to get on top of the shelf to the left. Don't worry, it shouldn't take you long to figure out how. Push down the box labeled ‘Robot Companion Box', then bite on it. Head back to the room with the power plugs and place the robot on the yellow light on the computer panel. This will awaken B-12, the drone buddy that will be your robot companion for the rest of the game. B-12 will then give you a backpack that lets him ride on your back and a key that will allow you to leave The Flat and continue on to your journey. He will also teach you how to open your inventory and interact with the items you find along the way.
