Host Geoff Keighley went on a Twitter Space to give us a sneak peek, among many other things, into the upcoming Summer Game Fest this June 9.

The Show

The Summer Game Fest is scheduled on June 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM EDT (11:00 AM PDT). Described as a “live, cross-industry showcase of announcements and games,” the event is one of the biggest of its kind. Gamers all around the world tune in to await news for the game they're most excited about, or look for newly announced games. The event will be hosted by the charismatic Geoff Keighley.

He began the Space by saying that he's “furiously working away” on the script, as well as reviewing footage. As a whole, the show is in its production stage, and the set is currently being built. Now on to the good part.

The Games

Keighley himself said that he's excited because he got to “finally see things we've been talking about to people for months.” He even added that its “gonna be a ton of fun.” One game that he confirmed will have a feature during the Summer Game Fest will be The Callisto Protocol. We wrote about the alien moon adventure game here, if you want to check it out. There'll be a gameplay demo for The Callisto Protocol, so look forward to that.

He also mentioned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and that we'll get to see the first level playthrough of the classic. Keighley said it looks “really incredible.” A reveal, some news, and footage on Gotham Knights is also something to look forward to for Batman fans. New footage of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will also be featured. A special guest in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for Fortnite, and may bring some new Fortnite news for all of us.

It seems this year's Summer Game Fest will primarily consist of new content and updates on already announced games. That being said, there will also be some new game announcements during the event. “Definitely manage your expectations in terms of the megaton shocks,” Keighley said.
