The Connecticut Sun take on the Dallas Wings. Our WNBA odds series has our Sun Wings prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Sun Wings.

The Connecticut Sun still have the best record in the WNBA. They have only one loss, and it came to the team which is probably regarded by most WNBA observers as the best team in the league, the New York Liberty. After losing to New York, Connecticut promptly got back on track by hammering Indiana and then taking care of Chicago. The win over Caitlin Clark and the Fever came at home and was entirely expected. Connecticut was favored to beat the Sky in Chicago, but the game was close in the third quarter, and the Sun were able to pull away down the stretch to win by eight. The game was not especially close in the final minutes — not a blowout, but not a squeaker, either. The Sun took care of business and took another step toward a top-two seed in the WNBA postseason. We're nearly one-third of the way through the 40-game regular-season schedule. The Sun aren't close to the finish line, but if they play the second third of the season the way they have played the first third of the schedule, they should be in very good shape for the playoffs.

The Dallas Wings are a competitive team. They have lost only two games by double-digit margins this season. However, they have lost more than they have won. They do not make big, defining plays late in close games. They usually fall on the wrong side of a tough battle. Dallas has been a bad last-five-minutes team in the WNBA this season. It's a crushing reality for a team which is regularly in the hunt when it arrives at the fourth quarter but can't produce a strong finishing kick. Dallas has fallen to 3-8, next to last in the WNBA ahead of only the Washington Wizards.

Why The Sun Could Cover The Spread

Connecticut just keeps winning. The Sun aren't dominant, but they are relentlessly consistent. They're competent and disciplined at both ends of the floor. They have multiple proven scorers who aren't just reliable in general, but who are not afraid of taking big shots and making key plays late in games. Compare the Sun's late-game acumen to Dallas's inability to finish games. That's a large and substantial point of differentiation between these two teams, and it points in favor of the Sun, who have clearly earned the benefit of the doubt. Dallas, in marked contrast, has not. There's a night-and-day difference between these teams in the final five minutes of regulation.

Why The Wings Could Cover The Spread

The point spread for this game is almost seven points. Dallas has lost a lot of games this season by seven to nine points. The Wings just have to be slightly better than they have been to cover this spread. They just have to be moderately tougher in the clutch to cover the spread. Dallas doesn't have to make a great leap; it just has to make small gains. That's a good reason to bet on the Wings.

Final Sun-Wings Prediction & Pick

Connecticut is better, but Dallas generally does play opponents close. Pass on this game and wait for a live play.
