The Phoenix Suns are currently up 2-1 in their series with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals. Just a year ago though, they lost in the NBA Finals in six games to the Milwaukee Bucks. Fast forward to this postseason, and it's still on the minds of Devin Booker and the Suns.

That’s the greatest hurt in a lot of our careers, especially up 2-0 and then dropping it. So, you channel it the right way, and we understand that it happens, (but) it’s the deepest hurt of our careers. And now, we have another chance at it. We feel that hurt. It’s something that you’ll never get over. Even if the day comes when I get one, you’re gonna look back and be like ‘I should’ve had two,’ you know what I’m saying? It’s one of those situations.

Booker and the Suns were up 2-0 in the Finals before the Bucks rallied to win the next four games. Now, they have nothing but revenge on their minds. As the top seed in the West, the Suns possess home court advantage throughout the rest of the playoffs. That remains the case if they make it to the Finals again this year, as they held the best record in the regular season.

He additionally mentioned that he's watched highlights of that series with the Bucks, via Sam Amick of The Athletic. Booker and the Suns seem to be clicking now that the star guard is back fully healthy. They are up 2-1 in the series over the Mavericks with Game 4 taking place Sunday afternoon.

It seems the Suns and Bucks may be headed for a collision course for a potential NBA Finals rematch. Before then though, each team must finish out their current challenging series. After that, the Suns will likely have to get through the Warriors.
