Phoenix Suns big man Deandre Ayton has been ruled out with a leg contusion for Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Ayton was listed as questionable for most of the day.

The Suns are 2-3 on the season and the Pelicans are 1-6. Phoenix should be able to win this game without Ayton. It will give him some nice rest until he is fully prepared to return for action.

Phoenix will have to look to Javale McGee, and Frank Kaminsky as they serve as the team's backup centers.

Ayton was injured during the Suns Saturday night win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ayton had a knee to knee hit on the right side of his leg. He said after the game that he was feeling okay. This was good news for the Suns as Ayton is a staple in their lineup. Luckily for them, he will only be out for a few games at most.

Head Coach Monty Williams had this to say about Ayton,

“He took a — I don’t know if it was a bump or the way he landed — I think it was somewhat of a stinger,” Williams said. “It’s a pretty bad contusion, been bothering him the last couple of days. He’s not the kind of guy who sits out. He’s hurting like that, we got to take it seriously.”

Phoenix will look to get a win tonight without him. Cam Payne is still out for them so they don't have the usual depth that they do.
