During an interview with Shams Charania of Stadium, Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes talked about how COVID-19 impacted him and his family.

Baynes tested positive for COVID-19 and slept for four days straight at one point.

The Suns big man hasn't touched a basketball for over 30 days, but he's still hopeful of joining the team in Orlando, Florida for the seeding games, which start on July 30.

Baynes becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Washington Wizards power forward Davis Bertans decided not to play in Orlando out of fear of getting hurt at Disney World. Like Baynes, Bertans becomes a free agent in the offseason.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Baynes was averaging 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Suns in 42 games. He was also shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from beyond the arc and 74.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Suns face an uphill battle to make the 2020 playoffs for the first time since 2010. Phoenix has to play better than the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs in the eight seeding games to clinch a postseason spot.

Baynes, who won the 2014 championship with the Spurs over the Miami Heat, has career NBA averages of 6.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in 469 regular-season games with the Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics and Suns.
