Second-year player Josh Jackson of the Phoenix Suns gave his shoes to a young fan who was three hours early for a recent game.

Observe the clip below posted by Bleacher Report, via aidan.klein on Instagram. It turns out that prior to the game in Phoenix, Jackson had already promised the fan his shoes since he came in three hours early.

It's always a great sight to see when players interact with fans. Jackson is among the many NBA players who have given their game-worn shoes to fans.

Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder has done it lots of times. Like Josh Jackson, he gives his shoes to young fans who are sitting courtside or near the locker room entrance. The NBA's brand is built on a few central pillars, and players being accessible to fans is definitely one of them. When a player on a bottom-tier team reaches out to a young fan, people notice.

It's already great from Jackson's perspective that the Suns still have loyal fans despite the horrendous season they're having. The Suns have a 15-51 record, one of the worst in the league. This fact hasn't swayed some fans from attending home games.

As of this writing, Phoenix has won three straight games. One of its wins came over the Milwaukee Bucks, the best team in the NBA as measured by regular-season record. No one knows what the future holds for the Suns. Will they get the number one pick in the 2019 NBA Draft?

Right now, there's no denying that they have a talented, young roster and a bunch of loyal fans. Maybe that's all they need to succeed as they move forward.

Whether the Suns win more games is an open question. What is clear is that Josh Jackson will continue to win more fans with gestures like this one.
