Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis was recently arrested in Manhattan Tuesday night after allegedly slapping his girlfriend, according to the New York Police Department. The 23-year-old was pressed with assault charges after the incident.

As per PIX 11, police said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Beekman Tower, a luxury high-rise building on Mitchell Place, near East 49th Street and First Avenue. The Raptors organization have also been notified of the situation concerning the sophomore guard, via Blake Murphy:

The organization is still in the process of seeking more information before taking any steps regarding the situation. On the court, the former Ole Miss standout recently went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft and was picked up by the Denver Nuggets to see action in their summer league squad.

In July of 2019, Davis eventually signed a two-year deal with the Raptors, with a full guarantee in year one. He went on to average norms of 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game through 72 games played in his rookie campaign.

Including the seeding games in the Orlando Bubble, Davis was the only player in the team to play all 72 regular-season games for the 2019-20 NBA season. His contributions to a playoff team like the Raptors throughout the year ultimately landed him a spot on the 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

The Raptors organization has yet to give word on their next action regarding Davis. Hopefully, he will be able to get back on track and continue on what seemed to be a promising career in the league.
