The Houston Texans eased to their fifth straight win with a convincing 42-23 win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night that has increased their grip hold over the AFC South.

However, it did come at a cost as wide receiver Will Fuller suffered a serious leg injury that has been confirmed by head coach Bill O'Brien on Friday morning as a torn ACL that will end his 2018 season, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

Fuller suffered the injury late in Thursday's contest on a deep throw down the sideline in near the end zone as the ball was a little underthrown by quarterback Deshaun Watson that caused him to bump into the defender and land awkwardly on his right leg.  He had put up a huge outing prior to the injury with five catches for 124 receiving yards and a touchdown. This is a major loss for the Texans as Fuller had emerged as the team's secondary receiving option behind Pro Bowl wideout DeAndre Hopkins.

The Notre Dame product has developed into one of the league's top deep-ball wide receivers in his brief time in the league, but the injury bug has hampered him from being able to reach his full potential up to this point in his career. Prior to the injury, he had missed eight games through his first two seasons due to nagging leg injuries. He finishes the 2018 campaign with 32 catches for 503 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Fuller was on pace to put up career-best numbers with 64 receptions for 1,006 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

This injury could force the Texans to look elsewhere to find more help at the position to help compliment Hopkins in the passing game. There are a few notable wide receivers available on the open market that include former Pro Bowler Dez Bryant. Although there hasn't been any indication of interest in him, the possibility certainly lies there if the team wants to go that route.
