The Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans won’t take the field until Saturday in their playoff matchup, but that didn’t stop one Bills player from paying a major compliment to the Texans ahead of the game.

Speaking to the media (via MSN) ahead of the game, Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson called Texans' Deshaun Watson the best quarterback in the NFL at the moment. According to Lawson — who played with Watson for a handful of seasons at Clemson — he can continue making plays that shine through the most.

“He's the best quarterback in the league, I personally think,” said Lawson. “I always say that. I played two years with him. He's a guy that's made incredible plays throughout his football career and things like that.”

Lawson no doubt has tons of respect for Watson, which should only help as the Bills' game plan for various ways to stop him on Saturday. The Bills and Texans will be the first two teams to kick off the 2019 NFL playoffs, and it’ll be a matchup of two 10-6 teams that offer a little bit of everything.

For the Texans, Watson and Houston are looking to advance past the Wild Card round for just the fourth time in franchise history. Their last trip to the playoffs came with disappointment, as they lost 21-7 to the Indianapolis Colts last year. As for the Bills, they’ll be making just their second playoff appearance this decade, as their only other appearance was in 2017, where they lost 10-3 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a brutal affair.
