It has never been a better time to be a fan of the Houston Texans. After spending several seasons in purgatory after trading QB Deshaun Watson, things are looking up for the Texans. Houston claimed their first division title and first playoff victory since 2019, led by star rookie quarterback CJ Stroud. Now, the Texans will be looking slick in 2024 with brand new uniforms.
The Texans recently revealed a complete redesign of their jerseys. This is the first time that Houston has changed their uniforms since coming into the league in 2002.
The new collection of jerseys features updated home and away uniforms as well as a new alternate uniform.
This is the first official look at the entire set of uniforms, though it is not the first time many are seeing them. There have been multiple leaks related to the Texans' new uniforms dating back to March. One post on social media leaked the new H-Town alternate helmet, and another from Texans' CEO Cal McNair wearing the H-Town hat with his dog. McNair also dropped a photo of Nico Collins and Tank Dell in the teams' new white uniforms on Reddit.
“Today, for the first time since 2000, we are so proud to reveal our new uniforms. They are even more special because they are inspired by and for our fans,” McNair said in a statement. “Our fans asked us to be more H-Town and we delivered. They were with us every step of the way and there's truly something for everyone over the four uniforms.”
Who will Houston Texans select in the 2024 NFL Draft?
Houston will not have a first-round pick to work with this year. The Texans recently traded their first-round pick (#23 overall) to the Minnesota Vikings for a second-round pick (#42 overall), a sixth-round pick (#188 overall), and a second-round pick next year. While Houston is sacrificing the ability to choose in the first round, they gain the ability to take multiple players in the middle rounds. Considering how deep this year's draft class is, that could turn out to be a very smart move.

- Fourth round (#123 overall) via Cleveland
- Fourth round (#127 overall)

- Seventh round (#247 overall)
Defense should be a priority for the Texans, especially the secondary. Derek Stingley Jr. has been a solid corner but hasn't lived up to his loft draft stock. Jalen Pitre has also been solid at safety but is nowhere near a gamechanger. Aside from these young players, Houston has nobody else in their secondary who should be a part of the team's long-term vision. Thankfully there should be several good cornerback prospects still on the board in the second round.
The Texans could also stand to add depth on the offensive line, particularly on the interior. Houston's offensive is loaded with talent around a young QB, so reinforcing the offensive line could turn the Texans into an absolute nightmare to defend.
Texans fans will get their answer this weekend as the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night in Detroit.
