Houston Texans defensive lineman JJ Watt was limited in Wednesday's practice, according to the team.

Watt has not played since Week 8 due to a torn pectoral muscle. He underwent surgery for the injury and landed on the injured reserve list, but the Texans activated the star pass rusher this week ahead of their Wild Card Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

In the eight games he played during the regular season, Watt logged 24 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and a couple of fumble recoveries.

The 30-year-old has been no stranger to injuries in recent years.

Watt has seen his season cut short due to injuries in three of the last four years, with his only full 16-game campaign during that span coming last year, when he racked up 61 tackles, 16 sacks and seven forced fumbles en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a first-team All-Pro selection.

The Pewaukee, Wi. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by Houston with the 11th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.

It didn't take Watt long to stamp his name among the most dominant defensive players in football, as he totaled 81 tackles, 20.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and 16 passes defended in his second season, winning Defensive Player of the Year honors in addition to earning Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selections.

Overall, Watt has been named Defensive Player of the Year three times while also notching Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors five times apiece.
