Following six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meaning that the Bucs are parting ways with incumbent quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston thanked Tampa Bay for a great five years and mentioned that he'll be back in February for Super Bowl LVI.

So, which situation gives Winston the best chance to make a triumphant return to Tampa Bay in 11 short months?

With quarterback-hungry teams such as the Indianapolis Colts and the Carolina Panthers locking up new starters and teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans re-signing their current passers to long deals, Winston doesn't have many other places to turn to.

While the New England Patriots seem unlikely to sign Winston and the Jacksonville Jaguars may be set with Gardner Minshew as of now, the Pittsburgh Steelers seem like the best viable option for Winston at this time.

Even if Winston would most likely be a backup in Pittsburgh, he may the most overqualified backup in the league.

Last season, Winston completed more than 60 percent of his passes for a league-leading 5,109 yards with 33 touchdowns and a league-high 30 interceptions, the first in NFL history to hit the 30-mark in both respective categories in one season. While he did have a turnover problem, he became the first quarterback to throw for 450-plus yards in consecutive games.

While money may be tight in Pittsburgh this season, considering how badly they suffered with Mason Rudolph and Devline Hodges following Big Ben's shoulder injury, Winston may be necessary injury insurance, as Greg Auman wrote for The Athletic.

Pittsburgh’s salary-cap situation is tight enough that this wouldn’t be much financially, but the Steelers have Ben Roethlisberger at 38 coming off elbow surgery and that counts as an opportunity in Winston’s current situation. Roethlisberger missed only three starts total in the previous three seasons, but the Steelers will be expected to have a better backup in place than in 2019 when Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges combined for 18 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 14 starts stepping in for the injured Roethlisberger.

Pittsburgh definitely puts Winston in a much better position to succeed compared to other quarterback-hungry teams such as the Miami Dolphins and the Washington professional football team.

Being a part of a winning culture with a talented young defense to rely on will be a great safety net for Winston if he is thrust into a starter role.

Head coach Mike Tomlin has seemed to have an affinity for him since his Pro Day, and while he loses the cushion of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to bail him out of bad throws, playing alongside talented deep-ball pass catchers in Juju Smith-Schuster and James Washington should help him stay on track, and James Conner may be the most talented running back he's ever played with.

This late into free agency, with many teams solidifying their starting options or waiting for the draft, Pittsburgh is the best option for the former Florida State Seminole.
