The Last of Us Remake has just been announced for both the PlayStation 5 and for Windows PC, marking yet another PS exclusive landing on PC. The rumors appear to be true as Naughty Dog confirms that The Last of Us Part I is coming to the PS5 and PC.

The Last of Us Remake Release Date: September 2, 2022

The game will launch on the PS5 come September 2 and on a later date for PC. Naughty Dog officially announced the remake is coming to the PS5 and PC during the Summer Game Fest 2022. They mentioned that it’s built from the ground up for the PS5 and will support 60fps with improved AI and other improvements. The Last of Us Remake will also include “The Left Behind” DLC, however, the multiplayer mode will be MIA. This is due to the fact that Naughty Dog’s next official TLOU title will be a standalone online multiplayer game.

What exactly are fans of the franchise supposed to expect from this remake and how different is it from the remastered version? According to Naughty Dog, “We've implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options in this single-player experience to allow even more individuals to enjoy the game.” They also mentioned in their blog post that “ Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers.” To sum up, we’re getting a modern-day version of TLOU Part I.

Honestly speaking, based on our POV the changes in the remake are just slightly better. There’s really nothing groundbreaking with what Naughty Dog did to the game. However, it’ll be cool to reexperience TLOU Part I utilizing the PS5’s hardware power. The Last of Us Part I Remake will come out on September 2 for the PS5 and at a later date for PC.
