Robert Williams, who slid in the NBA Draft all the way to the Boston Celtics, apparently fell due to some weird logistics. There's slightly more to it than that, but it certainly starts there.

For some context, when Williams entered the 2018 NBA Draft, many projected him to be a near-lottery level player. However, on Thursday evening, his slide began to the point people openly pondered about there being some larger issue at hand.

There was, kind of.

It isn't that Robert Williams had a bad medical report, but that teams simply couldn't get a hold of it because of a switch in agent.

Despite sliding, Williams is looking at this entire gloomy cloud with some silver linings.

“Definitely no regrets,” Williams said via The Boston Globe. “I definitely feel like everything happens for a reason. As far as my decision to go back, it was a decision between me, my mom, my dad.

“I feel like I love defense,” he said. “I feel like most of all, I thrive off of defense. Defensive stopper, and I feel like the energy . . . the Celtics thrive off of defense, just the excitement from simple hustle plays as far as diving on the floor.”

Summer League will be here before anyone realizes it, and Williams will have a chance to show other NBA teams why they were wrong for passing on him.
