The number of Carolina Panthers players on the NFC Pro Bowl roster is now up to three. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Charlotte Observer, linebacker Thomas Davis has been tabbed as the replacement for Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr.

Davis made the Pro Bowl in each of the previous two seasons, and he is about to play in the event for the third year in a row this coming Sunday in Orlando. Davis finished the 2017 regular season with 88 tackles – good for second overall on the team – to go with 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in 15 games. He was an integral part of the Panthers’ stop unit that finished the regular season third in the NFL against the run with only 88.1 rushing yards allowed per game.

Apart from those accomplishments, Thomas Davis’ 2017 season also saw him get fined $48,620 for the helmet-to-helmet hit he applied on Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Adam Humphries during the Panthers’ 17-3 road win in Tampa back in Week 8.

Selected by the Panthers 14th overall in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Davis currently is under contract with Carolina until the end of the 2018 season. He will earn a base salary of $5.75 million next season, per Spotrac.com.

Davis has 1,174 tackles so far in his career, which is the most all-time in Panthers history.

Davis will be with fellow Panthers Trai Turner and Graham Gano in Orlando, as the NFC side will look to avenge last year’s 20-13 loss to the AFC.
