Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan says superstar small forward Paul George “has played the best basketball of his career” this season.

George is in his second season with the Thunder and putting up MVP-type numbers for OKC.

Paul George shocked a lot of people last summer when he decided to re-sign with the Thunder in free agency instead of joining LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

George, though, has been showing the pundits all season that he made the right move to stay in OKC.

Entering Thursday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, George is averaging a career-high 28.6 points per game. The swingman is shooting 44.6 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.

George and Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook have great chemistry, both on and off the court. The dynamic duo is looking to lead OKC to the NBA Finals. The Thunder enter Thursday with a record of 39-25, which is good for third place in the Western Conference standings.

George returned from a three-game absence on Tuesday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. The six-time All-Star shot just 8-of-25 from the field, as OKC lost to Minnesota. Look for PG-13 to have a big game on Thursday against the Blazers.
