After a phenomenal Summer League debut for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chet Holmgren just saw his Rookie of the Year odds skyrocket.

During the game against the Utah Jazz at Salt Lake City, Holmgren was at +450 to win Rookie of the Year. However, with a 26-point explosion coupled with seven rebounds, four assists and six blocks, the odds skyrocketed to +360.

The Thunder youngster now leads the class, with no. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero at +440 and no. 3 pick Jabari Smith at +550, courtesy of FanDuel. It is worth noting, however, that the other two have yet to play in the Summer League.

Chet Holmgren certainly didn't waste any time showing the whole NBA what he can do and why he was largely considered the best player in the class. He did everything that he was expected to do and more.

It certainly helped him that he got off to a hot start, scoring 13 points in the first quarter alone while recording three blocks. His performance set the tone for him for the rest of the contest, with the Thunder winning the showdown 98-77.

Of course it is too early to celebrate since it is just one game. Holmgren also still needs to prove that he can keep up that dominant play in the regular season against tougher competition. Regardless, it is definitely a good sign for Oklahoma City. Not to mention that it gives Holmgren more confidence as he tries to show everyone that he belongs in the NBA despite earlier doubts if his game can translate to the pros.
