There are few certainties in the Oklahoma City Thunder roster moving forward but now Lu Dort can be classified as one of them. The Thunder guaranteed the last two years on Dort's contract for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

In 37 games this season for the Thunder, he has averaged 12.4 points, 3.6 boards, and 1.6 assists per game. While he does not regularly register defensive numbers, he is a pesky defender. He has a sturdy build and stands at 6'3 and 215 pounds with an impressive 6'8.5 wingspan, which helps make it possible to guard even wing players.

Currently, he is shooting from deep at a below-average mark of 32.9%. However, with more training and repetition and as the roster around him gets better, he should improve in this aspect of his game and become a true three-and-D player.

The Thunder are on rebuild mode and have been collecting draft capital and young talent like there is no tomorrow. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the team's best player and will be a stalwart for years to come.

The team recently traded Trevor Ariza to the Miami Heat for Meyers Leonard and a second-round pick. Oklahoma still has veterans George Hill and Al Horford will most likely find ways to trade both of them sooner rather than later. Shipping off Hill should be a rather easy task as the veteran is a proven commodity with a reasonable contract. Teams in need of outside scoring, secondary playmaking, and defense should be interested. The bigger challenge is moving the 34-year old Horford as he has huge cap hits until the 2022-23 season.
