Paul George’s exclusion from the All-Star reserves has been a topic of debate since its announcement on Tuesday. Many have given their opinion on it, saying that he deserves it more than some players named on the list. His teammate, Russell Westbrook, did not hold back in questioning the coaches’ votes which the Oklahoma City Thunder forward has found out about.

After hearing what the reigning MVP had to say, George shared their conversation prior to Westbrook’s interview. Even if he said to Westbrook that he didn’t need to give his side anymore, the guard still made his case for him as an All-Star this year. The 27-year-old Fresno State product appreciated Russell Westbrook for “having his back,” and admitted that it makes his free agency decision next summer easier to make.

Westbrook made it known that he does not agree that his teammate was excluded from the reserves list. He even went as far as calling him “number two in his position” as one of his arguments for him. He then added that he does not understand the situation and that it does not make sense to him.

With Paul George slated to become a free agent after this season, there is growing belief that he will sign with his hometown team, the Los Angeles Lakers. They have long been looking for an elite player that will agree to don the Purple and Gold jersey, but with the Palmdale, California native's latest comments, the Thunder may still have a huge chance of re-signing him especially with George knowing that his superstar teammate has his back.
