The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the road to take on the Phoenix Suns Sunday night. This game will continue our NBA odds series as we hand out a Thunder-Suns prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Thunder are 5-4, so they have been playing pretty good. They are coming off a loss against the Sacramento Kings, though. The Thunder are led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he averages 28.8 points per game, and 6.4 assists. Chet Holmgren leads the team in rebounding with 7.8 per game, and he also averages 16.2 points. Holmgren takes pride in his defense, though, and he averages over 2.0 blocks per game. Jalen Williams, Luguentz Dort, and Josh Giddey are all in the double figures for scoring, as well. As a team, the Thunder average 116.4 points per game.

The Suns have been struggling this season as they have lost five of their first nine games. Phoenix is coming off a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kevin Durant is the top scorer on the team. He is at 30.2 points per game. Devin Booker is the team leader with over 31 points per game, but he has only played in two games. He will mose likely remain out on Sunday as he continues to heal his calf injury. Bradley Beal has officially returned, though. He scored just 13 points in his first game back, but dropped 24 against the Lakers.

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread

Oklahoma City does a good job scoring the basketball, and that is something they will need to do in this game. The magic number for the Thunder is 110. When they score over 110 points, the Thunder are 4-1. In fact, all of their games they have scored over 110, the Thunder have also scored over 120. This means when they get hot, there is almost no stopping them. However, they are just 1-3 when scoring under 110. Oklahoma City does not play good enough defense to score below 110, so that is what they will have to do in this game.

The Thunder have their magic number, and it is entirely possible in this game. The Suns allow 112.2 points per game this season, so the Thunder have a good chance to put up 110+. Gilgeous-Alexander is the player to watch. The Thunder run through him, so he needs to be at his best in this game. He does average 28.8 points, and he facilitates the offense well, so he should be able to keep it up.

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread

The Suns have Kevin Durant, and he is one of the best players in the NBA. With him healthy, the Suns are going to be a threat to cover the spread always, despite the way they have started the season. He is scoring over 30 points per game, and with Beal back, the Suns are going to be very good. If those two players can have a good game, and score the way they have shown in the past, the Suns will be able to cover this spread with ease.

The Thunder allow 115.8 points per game, which is 10th-most in the NBA. The Suns will be able to put up some points in this game, and that is how they will win. If Phoenix can put up their points, and get hot from the floor, they will cover the spread.

Final Thunder-Suns Prediction & Pick

The Suns are slight favorites in this game, and I do like that. I think the Suns should be able to cover this spread, and win the game. Oklahoma City is a good team, but I expect Kevin Durant to take control, and Bradley Beal to have another good game. I am taking the Suns in this one.

Final Thunder-Suns Prediction & Pick: Suns -3 (-110), Over 231.5 (-110)
