The Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks were part of one of the biggest trades of the entire offseason. They were successful in dealing Carmelo Anthony, in exchange for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 second round pick. When both teams faced off on Thursday in their season opener, it was expected that the aforementioned players are still familiar with some of their former teammates’ tendencies on the court.

While boxing out for position during Paul George’s free throw attempt, McDermott was seen trying to pull off a low blow on Steven Adams. The 7-foot center simply knocked away his hand, and made sure he won’t get hit in the sensitive area.

Doug McDermott appeared in 22 regular season, and five playoff games for the Thunder last year. Obviously, he wasn't a member of the team yet when Adams' sensitive parts were put to the test by a signature flailing kick from Draymond Green. Everyone knows how that affected the Kiwi big man, so whatever McDermott was trying to pull off on that sequence was destined to fail.

With both teams still scheduled to play one more time this season, it will be interesting to see if there will be more more moves similar to what McDermott tried to do, to get an advantage over his former teammates. It's also worth noting that Adams did not react negatively to the 6-foot-8 forward's antics, which would've caused a possible altercation.
