As the slam dunk contest on All-Star Weekend nears, Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Terrance Ferguson is already making a case for himself as a possible contestant.

With the Thunder leading by a huge margin in the fourth quarter, their bench players had the opportunity to see extended minutes on the court and showcase their skills for everyone to see. The 21st pick from June’s draft took full advantage of it and pulled off a windmill slam during a fastbreak to the delight of his Thunder teammates.

Terrance Ferguson finished with an impressive stat line of 24 points, one rebound, one assist, and three steals in 32 minutes of action. While his dunks were impressive, his overall performance could also reward him with more playing time in the future as he has shown that there’s more to his game than just highlight reel plays.

Ferguson has definitely made a good impression of himself to the fans who saw his dunks and it could result to him ultimately being asked to join the slam dunk contest next month.

The Thunder easily won on the night as they blew out the Los Angeles Lakers inside their home court, 133-96, to snap their two-game losing streak and improve their record to 20-17.
