Minnesota Timberwolves starting point guard Jeff Teague will miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons due to left ankle inflammation.

Teague didn't play Monday night versus the Sacramento Kings. Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau says Derrick Rose will start in Teague's place again. Rose finished with 13 points and 11 assists against the Kings and racked up a double-double in 12 minutes in Minnesota's 132-105 win.

In 23 starts this season, Jeff Teague is averaging 11.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. The 30-year-old is shooting 38.4 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.4 percent from the free-throw line.

With Teague out, guard Tyus Jones and rookie Josh Okogie will get more playing time. Both players had great games on Monday versus the Kings. Jones had 10 points and 10 assists in 23 minutes, while Okogie scored 10 points in 27 minutes of action.

Rose has been playing well all season for Minnesota, but the former MVP plays at an elite level when he's the starter. The Chicago native is averaging 25.3 points and 6.6 assists in seven starts this season while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor and 55.9 percent from the 3-point line.

Minnesota is 14-16 on the season, 13th place in the Western Conference. They are 12-4 on the year at home.
