Minnesota Timberwolves star point guard Derrick Rose has stirred up quite a story in the NBA early this season. The former MVP has been stellar as of late and long-time teammate Jimmy Butler isn't surprised with Rose's return to top form.

ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward spoke to Butler after the Wolves' close defeat in the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers last night.

Then the Timberwolves star followed it up by saying that Rose's work ethic has been incredible despite the numerous injury setbacks that he endured.

Coming out the Golden State Warriors-Timberwolves game where he just played a total of four minutes due to an injury, Rose has been averaging 34.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in his last three games.

His 50-point explosion during a win over the Utah Jazz set his career-high in points, almost seven years removed from being the youngest MVP in league history. One could see the energy and enthusiasm in Rose's body language this season, factors that propelled him to the top before he endured years of recuperating from successive injuries.

Now already 30 years old, many people have written off Rose's name from being an impact player in the league. When the Jazz waived him last season after being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rose did not receive concrete offers until his former head coach Tom Thibodeau took him in just in time for the playoffs.

But despite the physical and emotional hardships that the point guard went through, he carved his way back to prominence through sheer hard work. He has become a focal point of the Timberwolves offense this season, a testament to Rose's talent and work ethic.
