The Tennessee Titans were hoping they could reignite Julio Jones‘ career after bringing him aboard this summer via a trade with the Atlanta Falcons. That has been far from the case in 2021, as the veteran wide receiver has been limited to just nine appearances due to varying health issues. After battling injury for much of the season, Jones was able to get back into the lineup in each of the past three weeks, but it looks as if he may be headed back to the shelf, per Ben Arthur.

Jones was one of a number of players to get placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday, joining the likes of OLB Bud Dupree, DB Buster Skrine, and WR Nick Westbrook Ikhine in what was a substantial blow of fortune for the Titans.

The Titans were hoping to wrap up the season with a somewhat clean bill of health, having just reactivated A.J. Brown ahead of their Week 16 matchup with the 49ers. That won't be the case now, however, with Jones set for another spell on the sideline following his COVID update.

This season, across nine games, Jones has recorded just 26 receptions for 376 yards and zero touchdowns. If Jones fails to record a touchdown during the regular season it would be the first time in his 11-year career that he went an entire season without finding the end zone.

The Titans acquired Jones from the Falcons, along with a 2023 sixth-round pick, in exchange for Tennessee's 2022 second round pick and a 2023 fourth-round draft pick. So far, the deal has not proven beneficial for the Titans, who will be hopeful Jones can avoid a lengthy stint on the COVID list.
