Malcolm Butler was one of the key offseason additions for the Tennessee Titans in free agency and he was expected to give the team a true No. 1 lockdown cornerback. Unfortunately, he has gotten off to a slow start this season and fans are beginning to get worried that the team may have made a bad investment.

In a recent interview with The Tennessean, Butler vowed that he will get better as the season moves forward.

“Eye control, fundamentals. Just a lot of stuff I’m beating myself on. It’s very frustrating. I know it’s frustrating to the fans. (It's) going to get better, man. It’ll get better.”

Mike Vrabel and company certainly hope that Butler's prediction comes true. The secondary needs a boost and Butler playing to his full potential would be the exact boost that they needed.

The Titans are currently 3-1 on the young season and look to be an intriguing contender in the AFC. Even though they aren't stacked with star power on either side of the football, they are finding ways to win football games. Butler is more than capable of taking his game to a new level and giving the Titans more playmaking on defense.

Throughout the first four games of the 2018 season, Butler has put up decent all-around numbers. He has racked up 25 total tackles to go along with a sack, forced fumble, interception, and four defended passes.

Despite the statistics looking solid, Butler has not come close to playing up to his full talent. He is more than capable of being a top-10 cornerback in the NFL.

It will be intriguing to see what Butler is capable of improving over the next few games. Tennessee needs him to become a better cover corner and that is exactly what Butler is promising to become.
