The Tennessee Titans ended their season on the sourest of notes after quarterback Ryan Tannehill's last-minute interception sealed their fate.

For a Titans team stacked with arguably the best running back in the game when healthy in Derrick Henry, top-end wide receiver threats in AJ Brown and Julio Jones, and a defense that featured several Pro Bowlers in Jeffery Simmons, Kevin Byard, and Harold Landry, upgrading at quarterback seemed like the conclusion many made after their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, the Titans themselves don't seem to feel the same way. Titans GM Jon Robinson re-affirmed his commitment to Ryan Tannehill now and going forward.

Via Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com:

“Ryan's a pro,” said the Titans GM. “He knows how much he means to us. Traded for that guy. Gave him an opportunity to start. New contract,” Robinson said. “I think it's pretty apparent where he stands with us. He's our quarterback. I don't know how many more times I gotta say it.”

The cost to upgrade could be the biggest reason behind the Titans sticking to their guns. Ryan Tannehill signed a 4-year, $118 million extension in 2020 that has the team locked into him for the foreseeable future.
