Thanks to the play of former Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the Tennessee Titans came within just one game of reaching Super Bowl LIV. With Tannehill leading the way in Tennessee down the final stretch of the 2019 regular season and well into the postseason, the surging Kansas City Chiefs simply proved to be too much to handle on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.

However, while being asked about his potential future in Tennessee after Sunday afternoon's loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, Tannehill was a bit diplomatic en route to being non-committal about ultimately retuning to the Titans come next season. The former Dolphins signal-caller, who just wrapped up his first season as a member of the Titans, will notably become a free agent this offseason.

“I'll have to take a step back and look at things here in the offseason,” Tannehill said, via Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean. “Obviously, I love this team. I love what this team was able to accomplish. I have a lot of love for the guys on this team and love playing with them. I will take a step back and look at that. But right now, I just really can't think of anything but how close we were and this loss.”

The Titans infamously turned things over to Tannehill after former Tennessee starting quarterback Marcus Mariota failed to get things going through the first six games of the regular season. Despite starting the year at a disappointing 2-4, the Titans rallied behind Tannehill and ultimately went 2-1 in the postseason after initially finishing at 9-7 in regular-season play.
