Minnesota Twins superstar outfielder Byron Buxton had to leave Saturday's game versus the Oakland Athletics after feeling some left hip tightness following Buxton's first at-bat of the game.

Buxton, the second overall pick of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Twins, is a five-tool talent when he can play, but often struggles with injuries that do not allow him to stay on the field for long durations of time.

Now in his eighth season, Buxton has managed to play over 100 games so far just once, back in 2017. In 2022 so far, Buxton has now played in 18 out of 28 games for the Twins — already missing over 10 games.

Even with the seemingly never-ending injury concerns, Buxton is off to a very good start this season, slashing a batting line of .290/.355/.754 from the plate with an MLB leading nine home runs, 17 RBIs, and 17 runs with an OPS of 1.109.

Speaking of Buxton's power numbers, the 2017 Gold Glove Award winner now bolsters 41 home runs in his last 110 games –– a sign that the early power numbers this season for Buxton are not a fluke but a sign of what Buxton can provide for the Twins with his bat at the plate [which is everything].

Twins manager Jayce Tingler did not have anything to add about Buxton's injury outside of that the team will see how Buxton feels tomorrow before deciding what the next step will be in the star's recovery process.

Twins fans can only hope for good news and a speedy return for their franchise player back to the diamond as soon as possible.
