The Minnesota Twins surprised many with the signing of free agent shortstop Carlos Correa, who was linked to other bigger market teams. Correa, however, opted for less money than he may have gotten from other squads in free agency. The talented shortstop plans to bring a particular sort of mentality to Minnesota this season: a World Series or bust mentality. Correa revealed his mindset heading into his first season as a member of the Twins, as reported by ESPN.

“I want to build a championship culture in this organization,” Correa said.

Carlos Correa didn't hold back when speaking about his goal for the Twins' organization. The former Houston Astros shortstop “wants to build a championship culture” in Minnesota.

That's certainly easier said than done, considering that the Twins haven't won a playoff game since the 2002 season. Minnesota has had some strong rosters in years past but has wilted once the calendar has changed to October.

That hasn't been the case for Correa, who has posted a .849 OPS with 18 homers and a .272 batting average in 79 career postseason games. This is a player who has won a World Series and has been there and done that, so to speak.

If anyone can help the twins get over the hump, it's Correa. Judging by his words, he aims to do just that.
