When UFC star Conor McGregor broke his leg last month in the first round of his fight with Dustin Poirier, there was definitely a belief that he would never return to The Octagon.

However, the Irishman has quickly shut down that speculation. In a Q&A on his Twitter page on Sunday, McGregor made it clear that he's aiming to be back in the UFC at some point next year:

Conor McGregor underwent surgery not long after the fight and appears to be in good spirits. He's been spotted all over L.A., hanging out with Justin Bieber, putting weight on his leg, and going to various restaurants.

The recovery from such a gruesome injury will obviously take a while, especially when it comes to actually competing again. But the fact that McGregor is already eyeing a return to the UFC is promising in itself. You better believe he'll be wanting another bout with Poirier after the last one ended abruptly.

Conor McGregor has struggled in recent years, losing three of his last four fights since 2018. Two of the defeats have been to Poirier, while the other was to Khabib. The Chosen One wouldn't be content with ending his career with an L, either. It will be interesting to see who will be his next opponent.
