Former PFL women's lightweight champion regrets having to personally meet UFC president Dana White in probably the most inconvenient time.

Kayla Harrison is one of the most coveted female fighters in the sport. Some believe that she deserves to be in the UFC but instead, the former two-time Olympic gold medalist chose to build a career with PFL.

However, that doesn't mean that Harrison did not have the chance to talk to UFC boss Dana White. In fact, she even consider their first personal encounter as “the most awkward moment” of her life.

Recounting the embarrassing meeting with White, Harrison said her friend who owned a restaurant and a friend White's decided that she should meet him. At first, she thought it will “be fun” but since White was in the “middle of his meal,” things did play out as expected.

“So me and this person go in to the restaurant after the fights, and it’s closed,” Harrison said via Punchin’ In podcast. And it’s just Dana [White] with a room full of people, they’re having dinner. Like, they’re in the middle of their meal. And we walk in and the guy I’m with is like, ‘Oh, this is Kayla Harrison! You gotta meet her! She’s gonna fight for you someday! She’s the best thing!’ And da-da-da-da-da.”

“And I had to go around. And I literally shook every person’s hand at the table,” she continued. “Dana was like, ‘Nice to meet you.’ You could tell he was like, ‘Why is this happening in the middle of my meal?’ And I was so embarrassed. I wanted to be like, ‘This wasn’t my idea! Don’t judge me!’ I can’t even imagine how many people has to hear that they’re gonna be the next big thing, or great, or this, or that.”
