UFC star Jon Jones has got his sights locked on becoming a champion once again but he knows the road to redemption is no walk in the park.

This year, Jon Jones is looking forward to finally change the headlines about him and reclaim his UFC supremacy. Many have been convinced that he's naturally big for a light heavyweight so there should be no major issue moving up to heavyweight. However, “Bones” admitted that it's “no easy task.”

“I said I’ll be the champion in 2022, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I feel like I’m jumping up three weight classes, going from competing at 205 pounds to 265 pounds is no easy task. Nothing great happened overnight, I’m patient and I’m working my ass off every day towards my goals,” Jones wrote on Instagram.

Last month, Jones revealed a few details about how he sees his long-awaited UFC return to play out. According to the former champ, he's eyeing two dates for his comeback and he's definitely hoping to get slated against the winner between Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane.

“I’m looking to fight somewhere in April, possibly Madison Square Garden, or a total opposite date, possibly July at International Fight Week,” Jones said via MMA Junnkie. “Those are the two dates that I’m kind of eying. I think it’ll depend on who wins in January between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane, and we’ll just take it from there.”

Jones has not competed professionally since February of 2020 but has constantly been preparing for his return.
