It is the two best in the UFL as the St. Louis Battlehawks face the Birmingham Stallions. It is time to continue our UFL odds series with a Battlehawks-Stallions prediction and pick.

The Battlehawks come into the game sitting on a five-game winning streak. After losing week one on the road to the Michigan Panthers by two, thye have been solid since. Last week that continued, as thye dominated the Houston Roughnecks on the way to a 22-8 victory. Meanwhile, the Stallions are undefeated this year. Last week, the offense continued to dominate. They were on the road to the Memphis Showboats, scoring 39 points on the road, and taking the 39-21 victory.

Why The Battlehawks Can Cover/Win

The Battlehawks are fourth in the UFL in yards per game this year, they are sixth in rushing yards and third in passing yards. The Battlehawks are first in the UFL in points per game this year.  AJ McCarron has been leading the team this year at quarterback. He has completed 67.8 percent of his passes this year for 1306 yards and 13 touchdowns. Further, he has thrown just two interceptions in the year. McCarron has also run a touchdown this year.

Meanwhile, Jacob Saylors leads the rushing attack. He has played in just five games this year but ran for 242 yards and two scores. Wayne Gallman also has two scores on the ground this year in five games, while Mataeo Durant has a touchdown with 134 yards on the ground. Hakeem Butler has been great in the receiving game. He has 478 yards on the year with five touchdowns. He has also brought in 31 of 43 targets on the year. Further, Marcell Ateman has also scored three times this year. He has 17 receptions for 208 yards on the season.

The Battlehawks are first in the UFL in yards against per game this year. They are fourth in rushing yards against while sitting the best in the UFL in passing yards against. They are also second in points against this year. Travis Freeney and Pita Taumoepenu both have four tackles for a loss this year. Freeney had three sacks, while Taumoepenu had four on the year. Meanwhile, Mike Rose has two pass breakups and two interceptions.

Why The Stallions Can Cover/Win

The Stallions are first in the UFL in yards per game, sitting first in rushing yards per game as well, but first in passing yards. They are second to the UFL in points per game this year as well. Matt Corral and Adrian Martinez have split time for the Stallions at quarterback. Corral is 36-62 passing with 494 yards and two scores. He also has two interceptions. He did not play last week though. Martinez is  62-105 on the year for 971 years, three seven touchdowns and an interception. He has also been solid on the ground, with 327 yards and a touchdown.

Ricky Person Jr. has led the rushing attack from the halfback spot. He has 193 yards rushing with seven scores this year. Further, CJ Marable had 190 yards this year and has scored as well. In the receiving game, Deon Cain leads the way. He has 342 yards of the year with a score. Jace Sternberger has scored twice this year while bringing in 236 yards. Ricky Person has also been solid in the receiving game out of the backfield, with 11 receptions for 139 yards this year.

The Stallions are second in the UFL in yards against per game, they are first in rushing yards against per game while sitting third in passing yards against per game this year. The Stallions also allow the fewest points per game this year. Carlos Davis has been great this year. He has 20 tackles but also has three tackles for a loss, six sacks, and a forced fumble. Further, Mark Gilbert has been solid in coverage, with an interception, four pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.

Final Battlehawks-Stallions Prediction & Pick

These are the two best teams in the UFL. AJ McCarron has been great this year, and passing well as of late. Meanwhile, Adrian Martinez has been a one-man show for the Stallions. The Stallions have the most yards per game this year but are second in points to the Battlehawks. The Stallions are also one of the better defensive units, but the Battlehawks have been just as good. The Stallions should get the win at home, but take the Battlehawks to cover in this one.
