Utah Utes quarterback Cameron Rising may have indicated that he plans to make the jump to the NFL this offseason.

On Monday, Rising stated he plans to take part in Utah’s senior night activities on Saturday.

Via The Salt Lake Tribune’s Josh Newman:

“During media availability, Cam Rising, a fifth-year junior with a year of availability left, indicated to us tonight that he will participate in Senior Night festivities on Saturday. No shock, but that’s not really a declaration he’s leaving. Certainly noteworthy.”

Rising has the option to return for a final season in 2023, but he is already in his fifth year.

With Rising leading the charge, Utah currently sits at 7-2 and is third in the Pac-12. They came in at 13th in the latest AP Poll. Utah still has to face Stanford, Oregon, and Colorado this season. If they can keep playing at the level that they have, they could find themselves in a major bowl game.

Rising has been consistent in his two years as a starter at Utah. In 2021, he threw for 2,493 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. He also rushed for 499 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Now in 2022, Cameron Rising has put together another solid campaign. He has thrown for 2,006 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just three interceptions this season. On the ground, he has added another 301 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He is on pace to set career highs across the board.

With a 2023 quarterback class full of talent, there is no telling where Rising would be selected. But he could very well be set to make the jump to the next level.
