The lights went out in the Wells Fargo Center during the Philadelphia 76ers' matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, which shouldn't be news except that it happened with the game still in its first quarter.

Aside from the short lapse of darkness, the show would eventually go on.

With Joel Embiid sidelined on a sore ankle suffered against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, however, the 76ers definitely paid the price.

Ben Simmons notched his seventh triple-double of the year, finishing with 23 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds, but the team failed to pull out the victory, losing 123-121 to a shoddy Hawks team.

Jimmy Butler ended with a game-high 30 points, while J.J. Redick returned with 20 points after missing two-consecutive outings.

Mike Muscala, who started in place of Embiid also pitched in with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

For the Hawks, who came in much more locked in than usual, guard Kevin Huerter led with 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting and  5-of-8 from beyond the arc. John Collins continued his stretch of dynamic performances with 25 points and nine rebounds.

Collins also…Literally shot the lights out in Philly with a game-winning fadeaway dagger over Muscala.

For those who say Joel Embiid doesn't make a difference between a win or a loss are officially shunned.

With the loss, the 76ers will drop to 27-16, making it just their fourth blunder at home this season. Their next action will be against the New York Knicks on Sunday in the first game of a double-header just before the Philadelphia Eagles square off against the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.
