The famous Salvation Army bucket once again made its presence felt Thursday night.

The Red Kettle is famously used for touchdown celebrations. The Cowboys' players, as well as their opponents, have used props before.

This time, however, the bucket is not used on a touchdown celebration, but on a turnover celebration by the Saints' defense.

Saints cornerback Marson Lattimore made a big play on defense. He knocked the ball out of Amari Cooper's grasp using his knee. The Saints' defense then recovered the ball on Dallas' own 39 and recorded a takeaway with two minutes gone by in the second quarter.

After the play, the Saints players went on to Red Kettle and Lattimore dropped a few bills into it.

There were shades of what Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot did a week ago. The third-year player drew $21 and dropped it in the bucket after he scored a touchdown against the Washington Redskins.

Elliot dominated on the ground that day with 121 rushing yards. It was good enough to lead the Cowboys to a 31-23 Thanksgiving Day win.

He then reached an agreement with the Salvation Army afterward as he would go on to match every $21 gift for the Red Kettle Campaign.

The bucket is an imposing sight near the goal line. Above all, it has been a symbol of the Cowboys' long-time partnership with the Salvation Army. It is used in asking for donations that are aimed at helping the less fortunate.

The takeaway by the Saints, however, did not result in a score as they went on to be shut out in the first half for the first time since 2014, 10-0.
