Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is expected to miss the final two games of the regular season due to a chest injury, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic.

Cook has been battling the issue for the last three games. He also sustained a shoulder injury during the Vikings' win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Minnesota still has not clinched a playoff spot, but the Vikings can put a bow on a berth with either a Los Angeles Rams loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday or a win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.

“It’s just about getting healthy,” said Cook, via Graff. “Pain and all that comes with the game. You can bear so much. You can do so much. But it’s all about being healthy and I think that’s when I’m at my best for the team.”

In the 14 games he has played this season, Cook has racked up 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 4.5 yards per carry. He has also caught 53 receptions for 519 yards, en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida State, was originally selected by the Vikings in the second round (41st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

A torn ACL ended his rookie campaign after just four games, and last season, knee issues limited Cook to 11 contests.

When he has been on the field, Cook has been productive, as he owns a lifetime average of 4.6 yards per attempt.

Minnesota is 10-4 on the year.
