Minnesota Vikings star running back Dalvin Cook sustained a hamstring injury on Sunday during the overtime of their game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Cook was not able to return to the game, while neither the Vikings nor the Packers were able to score in overtime, thus leading to a 29-29 draw – the second such occurrence in the NFL so far this season.
The former Florida State Seminoles running back struggled a bit on the ground against Green Bay, as Cook managed just 38 yards on 10 carries with zero touchdowns. He was impressive in pass-catching, though, totaling 52 receiving yards on three receptions for a 17.3 yards per catch average.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, meanwhile, allayed fears of a serious injury for Cook, as he reported that the tailback only suffered hamstring cramps.
#Vikings RB Dalvin Cook told me the hamstring issue that cropped up late is just a cramp. He’s fine.

The Vikings have every reason to be extra careful with their use of Cook whenever he gets hurt. Last year, Cook saw his rookie season in the NFL cut prematurely by a year-ending knee injury.
It won’t be a surprise if Cook gets held out of Minnesota practices ahead of Week 3’s showdown with the Buffalo Bills at home.
If Cook missed any time, Latavius Murray is likely going to be his placeholder atop the Vikings’ running back depth chart.
