The Minnesota Vikings did not make a move over the weekend, which is probably good news for most fans of the NFC North franchise.

According to his agent, Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph won't be going anywhere any time soon as the veteran pass catcher will remain in Minnesota going forward.

“Despite rumors, the Vikings are not in negotiations with Kyle Rudolph, have not asked him to take a pay reduction and have told us explicitly that Rudy will not only be on the team this year, but hopefully for years to come,” agent Brian Murphy told Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The 29-year-old Rudolph is now gearing up to enter the final year of his current contract with the Vikings. Coming along with a salary cap number of $7.625 million for the 2019 season, Rudolph appears primed to receive a new deal from the Vikings sooner rather than later. While most teams see that cap hit as a large number, the Vikings obviously don't mind as the tight end definitely adds some value to the team's offensive scheme.

Last season, he caught 64 passes for 634 yards and served as a Vikings team captain for all 16 regular season games.

Minnesota notably missed out on the postseason in 2018 despite acquiring former Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, a move that was applauded by many. Even so, the NFC North division has become quite competitive with both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears now serving as legitimate threats to the rest of the league. As a result, the Vikings will need all the help they can get going forward, which includes Rudolph's services.
